Norbert Szircsák explained that throughout the certification process several areas had been examined, such as energy efficiency, maintenance, and sustainable operations.

“For improved energy efficiency and lower maintenance, the lighting of the reception and the lobby area had been changed to modern LED lights by the maintenance team of the property. Environmentally friendly, „green” cleaning products are used for the cleaning of the property to protect the health of the tenants and the environment. Several other environmentally friendly operational measures and guidelines have been installed besides the „green” cleaning. These measures include hardscape and garden management, pest management control and alterations. Thanks to the originally installed water efficient taps the building was able to reach maximum score in the water efficiency category of LEED EBOM.” – explained by Norbert Szircsák.

Ignác Torma, managing director of GRT Group - the owner of the building - added that from a recent survey conducted among the tenants of the building the majority of them travel to work not by car but by an alternative means of transport such as car sharing or bicycle. „We were so pleased about the results of the survey, because this factor also contributes to the reduction of the environmental load caused by commuting to work.”

Office Garden II is located in one of the most dynamically developing areas in Budapest, in District IX. near the Danube, one block away from the Szerémi-Budafoki út, and only 5-minutes away from the Rákóczi Bridge. The favorable office layouts, from which there are views to the outside environment, and also the newly received LEED Gold Certification indicates that the developer, the Hungarian owned GRT Group met the highest expectations, and built a high efficient, reasonable priced office building. This is also proved by the close to 100% occupancy.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a world-known and acknowledged certification system, which takes sustainable aspects into consideration during the valuation of properties.
