The Hungarian real estate market is getting greener

Today one quarter of modern office buildings in Budapest have a sustainability evaluation certification, and even among the older office buildings a growing number apply new technologies. Almost all new real estate entrants offer architectural and environmental management solutions to their future tenants. Held by the world's largest real estate advisor, CBRE’s Green Week campaign, organized each year, aims to raise the awareness of the global real estate industry about social responsibility towards the environment by reaching its more than 70 thousand employees as well as its customers.

DVM group Supports Earth Hour

DVM group – provider of the most comprehensive range of integrated building services in Hungary - announced its support for World Wildlife Fund's (WWF) global Earth Hour initiative that will take place for the tenth time on 19 March, 8:30 - 9:30 pm local time. Earth Hour is a movement that unites cities, businesses, schools, organisations and individuals around the globe by turning out lights for one hour in a symbolic and unified call for action on climate change.

Green certification of own office on reasonable price

The Hungarian office of Colliers International - as the first European green certified office of the international real estate network - now continues its operation in a Silver level certified office of the LEED for Commercial Interiors system. “The fit-out and the certification of our own office required at least as much attention and work as to fulfill the expectations of our clients.” – said Norbert Szircsák, Senior Associate of Green Advisory Services at Colliers International.

30% of all office area is expected to be green by the end of 2015

In 2014 green office area continued to grow rapidly, now the stock of green offices is exceeding 23% of the entire stock. Taking into consideration the size of offices currently being under certification, this number will grow to 30% by the end of 2015. – said Norbert Szircsák, Senior Associate at Colliers International’s Green Advisory Services on the occasion of releasing the real estate consultant firm’s yearly green certification report.

New green offices in Budapest

Three Budapest office buildings of Raiffeisen Evolution (RE) recently won certifications in Gold by ÖGNI at the end of September. The Austrian Sustainable Building Council awarded REsidence 1 and 2 office buildings and Rumbach Center with the most prestigious recognition. Rudolf Riedl, managing director of RE project development Kft. summarized the recently finished process.

Additional 100,000 sq m green office area on the Budapest office market

Colliers International has been assigned to certify CA Immo’s office portfolio consisting 6 office buildings totalling 100,000 sq m according to the LEED rating system– informed the OGH News Agency Norbert Szircsák, Senior Associate of Green Advisory Services at Colliers International.
